Yeah, New Moon is definitely my least favorite of the series thus far. It has its high points for sure, but man, those middle chapters were tough to get through.

I had no such complications with Eclipse. Not entire chapters, or huge sections, anyway. Though there certainly are a couple of scenes in Eclipse that I had a difficult time reading, and when I reread, I'll probably skip right past them. Still, it's a few pages-- not 300 pages.

I love this series. I cannot wait for the movie to come out. I some what thought new moon was a little boring, but trust me eclipse is really good.

There's some redundancy with the whole "Edward is the most beautiful creature I've ever seen" thing. Bella is sometimes dimmer than I think her character needs to be to move the plot along. Edward possesses some stalkerish qualities that I'm okay with in the context of the book, but would scare the hell out of me if it were the real world. Charlie and Bella don't have much of a meaningful bond. She cooks dinner for him, he watches sports. Again, I'm okay with that, because the book isn't about Bella and Charlie, but it still sticks out to me. Too many situations are ended by Bella falling asleep. It's a bit more "damsel in distress" than I usually prefer.

Again, none of these things are anything more than a passing thought to me in context. I love the books beyond reason. But I have hated other books for less than what is presented here. Stephenie Meyer deserves gigantic kudos for making me overlook these things.

Chances are you weren't the only one who knew about it. Not to diss your friend, but cheaters are invariably stupid and slip up somewhere. I speak from experience; it seemed everyone but me knew my husband was making a fool of me. I agree you shouldn't have broken your friend's confidence, but your mom should have been a little more sensitive.
