I’ve watched some movies since last I checked in here. I don’t feel like doing even quick-read reviews, so I’ll tell you quickly whether I liked them.
No Country for Old Men: Fantastic. There were scenes that were so tense, I could’t take it in silence so I had to squeak-scream.
Thank You for Smoking: Great satire. Katie [...]

BSG: the countdown continues
Posted in Battlestar Galactica, tv on March 31, 2008 | Leave a Comment »
My neurotic fear of being spoiled for the upcoming season is getting out of hand. Today my coworker asked me “So, what did you think about Obama…”, but I heard, “So, what did you think about Adama…”, and I panicked. I did the whole fingers in my ears, “LALALALALALANONONONONOAHHHHHHHSTOPTALKINGIDON’TWANTTOKNOW” thing, and she looked at me [...]
Season 4 coming soon!

In honor of the countdown to season four of Battlestar Galactica(less than a week away!), I have changed my header. I’m so ridiculously excited about a new episode, I can barely contain myself.
I’ve convinced Lori and Paul to give the show a shot, and I’m strangely nervous about it. I love it so much, and [...]

When I first watched this episode of BSG, I thought it sucked. I hoped that it would improve on rewatch, as sometimes happens. For instance, when I rewatched the seventh season of BtVS, it was much better than I remembered. On the other hand, rewatching the Buffy season six episode “Wrecked” reminded me how truly [...]
Here’s my problem

I don’t necessarily think this problem is unique to me, but it’s a problem nevertheless.
For the past several weeks, I’ve been recording a bunch of movies that interested me. I even watched a few of them. Actually, I have to back up a little. First I couldn’t even decide what to record, so I had [...]
BSG rewatch- The miniseries

What does one do when one has the day off and has just purchased the third season of Battlestar Galactica? One watches the first season, of course. Yeah. I know. I was getting all settled in to watch the first couple episodes of season three before going out for drinks, when I decided I should [...]
Mission accomplished!

And not in the dubya way, either. I won’t be wandering around five years from now in search of season three of BSG. I own it now. It wasn’t easy, though. Why do I always have such a hard time finding BSG DVDs?
I was out bright and early this morning, certain I would find them at [...]

12 favorite TV shows of all time

These aren’t necessarily what I consider to be the best shows of all time (although some of them totally are), but they’re the ones that I can (and sometimes do) watch over and over again and I never tire of them.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer- I loved TV before Buffy, but this was my first [...]
I have a problem

It’s not a serious one, but it’s annoying.
I was all snug in my hotel room when I started worrying that I might get bored. I left my book at ho me with my baggie of Keebler Bug Bites (which are awesome, by the way), so I had nothing to entertain me.
No biggie. There’s a Target [...]
